My Journey

Expatriate
Originally from Seattle, Washington, I’ve lived the last 15 years on three different continents. One of my favorite parts of living abroad is learning new languages, and I currently speak French and Italian. Every day I gain cultural insights that open my mind to new ways of seeing the world and keep me on my toes.
Instructional Designer
As an instructional designer, I get to do all of my favorite things: collaborate with subject-matter experts, nerd out about learning theories, utilize new technologies, and design cool learning experiences. My mission is to deliver high-impact content in a purposeful way, to help people close skill gaps and reach their goals. Currently, I am pursuing a masters in Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning, to expand my e-learning development and HPI skillset.

International Educator
From 2015-2022, I dedicated myself to the world of education. In addition to researching, designing and implementing curriculum, I worked closely with over 600 diverse learners. Seeing their struggles and successes firsthand, both in a classroom and a virtual setting, made me realize the importance of a learner-centric design. Never content with “the way things are done”, I redesigned the 6th-9th grade curriculum to focus on project-based learning and real-world applications, to be deeply relevant to students’ lives and needs.
Opera Singer
Just as in education, performance artists seek to engage and transform their audience. While living in Thailand, I had the opportunity to collaborate with directors and musicians from all around the world. My favorite moments were when I could push the boundaries of musical genre in innovative and unusual cross-cultural endeavors.
